One of the actual GOOD things about Palin is that she's going to be the magnet for the fundies in future GOP efforts. Huck is great and all but he's not a dumb, easily manipulated wretch like she is, and those kind of people offer something for everyone in the GOP.

Huck might actually do some things for the sake of social justice, for example. Helping dirty poors =  big for the GOP.

UGHH McCain bringing up the Bridge to Nowhere.  Do people really pay eat this stuff up?  Earlier on The Morning Joe, Scarborough made it sound irrelevant that Palin used to be in support of the Bridge because she opposed it once she was in office.

I got hired at an energy firm.  I suppose I should be excited about Palin but she has no actual ideas for energy other than to deregulate further.  I suppose that is good for me because that means more money in my pocket but after reading her energy ideas, she is a fucking nightmare and will only cause the cost of living to shoot up high from all the free passes she will be giving energy firms.

A lot of the people on her side are the fundies, who were a little disgruntled that Huck was snubbed.  Huckabee was the fundie candidate of choice.  Now that McCain got a fundie for a VP, they are now moving to Palin.  So now the GOP and right wing wagons have circled and are pretty much ready to go for it.  This explains the sudden boost of popularity.  It isn't because she was the best choice of the bunch but because she reached out to a large base of voters that were somewhat reluctant before

A lot of attention is going to be on Palin and it may get to the point where McCain is a secondary figure for campaigning.  This means that she is going to have to be at her top game all the time.  Making cutesy quips works now but if she keeps blundering and resorting to the same defense, voters will get annoyed.  Then she will have to try to untangle herself from the mess, which will only make it worse.  I'm sure the GOP knows this and is making sure that she doesn't say a single word without approval from campaign managers.

That's a good point but it still seems a bit extreme, especially combined with the material they gave her and her subsequent quarantine.
