I watched the French thriller/suspense movie Eden Log
It was good, but I wanted to like it a lot more than I did.

Tomorrow: Appaloosa.

I saw Changeling last night.  Particular moments are expectedly maudlin -- standard-fare for Eastwood direction -- but I thought it was pretty good.  Angelina Jolie is stunning in her 1920's get-up and does a surprisingly nice job screaming "I WANT MY SON" again and again.

Watched Tropic Thunder last night. It had many funny parts and Tom Cruise was amazing. I lost it watching the parts where Stiller was forced to act out his distinguished mentally-challenged fellow movie(Simple Jim? can't remember) for the Vietnamese people. The exchanges between RDJ and the real black guy were hilarious too. It's just an overall silly movie.

I watched The Flaming Lips' movie Christmas On Mars yesterday.  Kinda cool; what works best are the elements more obviously 2001-influenced: the score, moments of stillness, the backdrop, and some impressive, albeit clearly low-budget, special effects.  Pretty funny too.  What doesn't work so much is the plot, which is basically a story of a man attempting to throw a Christmas party on Mars in the midst of mechanical crisis, madness, and certain death, and that's due mostly to Coyne's decision to focus on a general theme of weirdness, using odd imagery, tons of swearing and pussy-faced marching bands to create his atmosphere, rather than selling tension that's so important to the success of the plot, but ultimately only suggested.

Revenge of the Nerds and Revenge of the Nerds 2 are both hilarious. :lol

I am kinda addicted to the first movie.  Best 80s comedy evar.  I still haven't seen the sequels because I heard they make Ogre become a nerd in the sequel and THAT WILL NOT STAND.  They expect me to believe that horse shit?

NOTORIOUS. Jamal Woolard did a fucking amazing job as Biggie, but the plot was a little slow at times. Pretty good overall, and it was interesting to see a little of the dynamics within Bad Boy (read: I feel really bad for Lil Kim, who basically got fucked over).

The second one is a typical bad sequel to an classic 80's comedy and the last two are what you expect for "made for basic tv" sequels. If you choose to watch them, make sure you go in with very low expectations (even then you'll come out probably hating them).

Mulholland Drive: 4/5 Stars.  Absolutely loved this film.  I'm currently watching Lynch's filmography and this was awesome intro to his work.  Great performance by Naomi Watts.  The DVD didn't have have chapter breaks in it though.  I wonder if that was a Lynch decision.

Juno: 3/5 Stars.  I thought Juno was a fairly enjoyable movie.  Ellen Page being the standout.  The soundtrack was annoying, however, and Michael Cera continues to demonstrate why he will be cast as the same character for a bit.

Just a pre-emptive warning. Max Payne is available for rental this weekend and it's mind-numbingly bad. Not even mildly watchable like a Resident Evil or Doom can be.

It only has about 5 minutes of cool visuals and about 125 minutes of horrible acting and no story.

I watched some flicks on Netflix on 360:

The Weather Underground - I hate hippies but I am a pro violence liberal.  As a result, I was pretty torn about this movie.  I thought it was a fairly solid documentary and also an insight into the future brains of the Obama administration, Bill Ayers.

Gonzo - It was ok.  Nothing really new or insightful but I've read a lot of his work so I enjoyed it all the same.

Wtf?

Trolls? Why come at me like that. All i'm sayin is it sorta felt pointless. I get one of the messages, but the whole journey he went through was just weird, and amounted to nothing.

I actually had to do the bedroom scene in my acting class for example. I'm not trolling the movie, it's well done, i just don't get it? I guess.
