This is how their previous games launched, too- Red Dead Redemption 2 hit PC about a year after consoles.  IIRC they focus on the console versions first and then work on the PC versions after.

Not sure what you're talking about. I expected them to be further along (some of this stuff is obviously staged/in-engine animations like the girl swaying her hair, you can practically see someone press 'play' to record it) but overall I'm very impressed by the graphics and style. Not to mention all the 'Florida' things that they didn't shy away from like strip clubs and pool parties and the glimpses of side activities like street racing.

This has the GTA vibe that Watch Dogs, Saints Row and other competitors just couldn't seem to grasp.
It looks fun, it looks savage, it looks GTA.

Well, I think it has something to do with this trailer dropping 2 years before release. I think they've made the city, mechanics, assets etc. and are just starting to put it all together with the story and everything.

Im saying the trailer itself is edited pretty badly compared to their older GTA trailers. I dont know if its the lack of a decent voice over, the music, the editing itself or whatever..

As a Florida resident, these types of characters and behavior is only witnessed during Spring break.  Otherwise, these aren't typical Fluerdah residents.    But some people do get crazy from the heat though.

About the story vibe, seems like the Bonnie & Clyde thing would've been better with a 90's vibe.. Better music during that time too by far.  It looks graphically impressive, but nothing sold me on it yet.  Need to see some actual gameplay with such fidelity.  If you can literally break in any building/dwelling, I'll be more impressed.

It's absolute chaos, as the people not laid off have no idea what is happening next and some of the folks that lost their jobs were on vacation.
Despite all the troubles at Embracer no one expected this to happen to suddenly. They announced a hiring and salary freeze for January

Fuck. So they added a Metro system. Very cool you would think. Finally being able to ride the train and gaze out the windows.

But then, it's just a locked in place cutscene? As in, you can't move freely on the metro. You can't walk around. You either stand or sit, in one specific place. The thing doesn't actually run either, you just select a destination from the list and it kicks you out there. Cant even do a full circle or something.

Like whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy even add this feature if you're just gonna handicap it and make it bullshit?

I'm really hoping that R* does something parodying Miami Music Week/Ultra Music Festival in here. They've proved in the past that they like and understand dance music (hell, a friend I met a while back at a party is now working social for R*), what with Palms Trax and Solomun cameoing in GTA Online, Francois K having his own radio station in 4.

Think my concerns around GTA6 revolve around how big GTA Online was and how much that will drive decisions. But maybe that’s not a bad thing. Maybe it means they’ll focus on world and systems and whatever can carry over across modes. Maybe campaign missions will actually be open ended and not the direction of RDR2.

Anyway, the chances of another GTA set during a different period are nonexistent. It’s been pointed out how Vice City and the 80s were as far removed as we are from Vice City. But a modern GTA set in the early 2000s would be awesome.

Anyway, Game Awards was great. Lots of exciting announcements.

Sega just dropped a bomb and announced Shinobi, Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, Streets Of Rage, and Golden Axe games at the Game Awards. 

I literally had my foot reared back ready to boot Sega to the curb, then they drop this.  Unbelievable.



Shinobi is obviously being done by Lizard cube, so I'm ok with that, after SOR4.

But yeah, I kinda enjoyed it overall.  Nothing too cringe and glad TOTK didn't get many awards.  Happy for Larian though.

I do have to say that JSR so far looks like the weakest one. Why get rid of the iconic cel shaded art style? Especially in 2023 when we have fighting games with graphics that look like literal anime?

Shinobi being a 2d game...again is disappointing. I was hoping for a 3d revival similar to the ps2 era. Make it more like NG/Sekiro and they'd sell 1 million plus if under the right developer.

Golden Axe surprisingly looks like the coolest looking game.

I'll check all of them out though, obviously.

Rewatched the JSR thing some more. I do really like the emphasis on verticality and the blow is softened after finding out it's not entirely cel shaded. The budget looks huge for a JSR game as well. Hopefully Sega acquires the folks that did Bomb Rush.

Rise of the Ronin, which looks pretty awesome, launches on March 22, 2024... Same day as Dragon's Dogma 2.  Ronin will have to wait.

And just like the 90's Sega commercials of old, where it's got senseless live action crap 80% of the short commercial and tease only couple second snippets of gameplay... 




Big question is, will they maintain this momentum?  They ticked some big boxes, but there's still A LOT of boxes...

JSR just looks straight up awesome.  I hope they keep the original OST, or at least have it optional.

SOR, I couldn't help but feel it being a mix of SOR and Fighting Force. ... But it could turn out to be Dynamite Deka awesome.  Will it be SOR5, or a side story? (side note: where's that Final Fight Remake that got leaked forever ago?)

Golden Axe looks like a pleasing entry with it's art style..  It better bring that co-op magic like GA3 & 4 did.  Never did try that Golden Axed demo.

I wasn't the most massive Crazy Taxi fan, but glad it's getting recognized.  I think these AA caliber looking productions for these titles are totally fitting.  It works with Nintendo IP's of old... As long as their fun and polished, but we'll see.

Next on the wishlist will be a proper Phantasy Star, or remake the quadrilogy, because those stories are still great.
Also Panzer Dragoon Saga finally needs to shine once again. 
Of course all the Virtua series and racers... ESPECIALLY an OutRun 3....   With VR implementation. Sweet Jesus, can you imagine?

And fuck it... Let's get a 3D, top down style, Remake of Moonwalker Arcade... SHA-MONE!!

Guess I'll have to watch it to see what all the hubbub is about.

SEGA stuff looks great, looks like SEGA figured out the same thing Nintendo, Capcom and now Remedy did.
If you are a game company you should just use your IP's to make games and not blindly chase the latest trends.

I can't believe it took them the entire Switch generation to figure this out.
