Not only was it the worst year of my life, it but it was extremely terrible for the rest of the family. 2011 is definitely gonna be better, there is literally no way but up for us.

Edit: Unless I die, of course. Definitely the only possible way down.

I already can't remember anything from 2010.  That's not a joke.  I've developed serious memory problems.

I'm hoping in 2011 will be as swift as 2010.  Here's hoping 2012 lives up to the hype.

I've had a couple of those years.  They usually just flew right by.  I'd consider them good years because they must be stable enough.

Could have been better, but I got a stable decent paying job (well, for this city anyway), so I'm gonna play it safe and spend 2011 saving up and doing menial things.

Probably because of our lack of precognitive skills.

"Worst year of my life, so far" is the correct phrase, everyone should use it before drewsy starts talking about his ghetto life, and tell us how we're having it easy.

2010 was an awesome year. Ran a half marathon, renovated my basement, watched a ton of World Cup, the Mrs. and I went to Japan again (and had a blast with Tokyo-bore), saw some awesome concerts, etc.

2011 should be incredible as well. Heading to Belgium and the Netherlands, doing another half marathon and starting to try and make a baby near the end of the year.

Didn't think last year was bad, even though my social life slowed down somewhat. Got to go to a few great parties (Electric Zoo, Tensnake), went on a cruise to the Bahamas, went to Boston, and went to Lake George. This year should be good, got big plans for the year - getting a place, going overseas (me and my g/f were talking about this, I want to go to Japan and she wants to go to (of course) Ireland).

2010...

Professionally, was fucking amazing.

I got to contribute in my own small way and be a part of the two largest security events in Canadian history, in the span of six months, from the Olympics in February, to the G8-G20 in June.  I was lucky enough to get placed in a posh condo in Whistler for six weeks in the middle of the Olympics.  To ski down Blackcomb Mountain on a day with such incredible weather that I still cannot believe it.   And then I got to see down the rabbit hole for the G8/G20.  'tis all I can say, but was very cool.  And I got to salute the Queen of England.

And, for a 26-year old cop with just a Liberal Arts B.A., I made what I consider to be an obscene amount of money, considering the economic situation of 2010.

Personally.....was a fucking mess.  But to say "it can't get any worse" would just be tempting fate, so we'll see what happens... ;)

But the first few days of 2011 were spent on a bender, so that was good, I suppose.

Borys, it is because they don't have a wife as hot as yours to knock up.

I know how sad that sounds, but I don't have much choice but to stick with it.  law school is a waste for practically everybody in the U.S. right now, except people in top schools.

I know of a woman who graduated in the top 10% of a third tier law school, passed the bar, etc.

She works in a grocery store and probably makes no more than $8 an hour.

A farmer I was talking to in my work told me that his son was working on the farm with him because he is a law school graduate and couldn't find any jobs.

Must be depressing to rack up $100,000+ in student loans to only work at $8 an hour jobs.

I have a very pessimistic outlook, but man, there has to be more to that story.  It's not that bad :lol

There are random office jobs and stuff that would consider a law degree a plus, if only to show that you can work hard.  I hope!

Anyway, just got all my grades but one back.  Looks like I had my best semester yet...two Bs and a B+.  The one I'm waiting to hear about is the class I was most confident in.  What did I do differently this semester?   I smoked weed to chill myself out.  That's all.  Like...smoked weed erry day.  :rofl

The former story is exactly how it was.  Was all set to make it and couldn't get anywhere.  Since there is a huge influx of practicing lawyers out there, they wanted to hire lawyers with experience.  Jobs were few and far between in general so she had to take what she could get.

Don't know much about the latter story.  The guy could have graduated at the bottom of his class at a fourth tier toilet law school.

You should read the law school thread on SA if you have some spare time.  It seems to corroborate with what I said.

No doubt it's shitty if you want to be a lawyer.  I know all about that...the SA thread is ridiculous and it's echoed by every practicing attorney you speak with, except people who work for law schools, of course.  You know it's rough when there's a shitload of competition for unpaid internships and volunteer work.

I meant there's more to it that would make a person settle for a grocery store or farm, with no connection to the law degree itself.  Even with an undergrad degree (and a decent amount of time to flood your town/city with apps, plus pulling on all your connections) you could land something better.  I've had better jobs myself, even without an undergrad degree.

oh well, I've got a year and a half to worry about this  :'(

Pretty much the same as 2008 and 09. Studied, worked, left a house, moved into a new one, began a summer internship at the end of the semester till the next one in 2011, still living with my girlfriend, 4 1/2 years now
:piss marriage, stupid ritual. 2011 is exciting because I should finally finish my degree. Everything is pretty stable, and a bit boring hence I've started using more than usual, I also bought a bunch of new tramping gear (packs, tents etc) over christmas in sales, i guess it's kinda my resolution for the year to travel around the country I've lived in my whole life and see what the fuss is about.
