The lake is between the camera and the mountain so the path of light is obvious

In the egg example, the mirror is behind the egg and blocked by paper. There is no way for the light to get there

What is it suddenly with animated movies where characters have panic attacks and people thinking it's so amazing. Same thing happened with Puss in boots. Is this going to be the next trend? You know the animated movie formula, quirky side character and the second act panic attack.

it's when you realize your main character does not have an arc and you have to throw in a low point so they can immediately get back up afterward and it feels like they redoubled their efforts but really basically nothing changed
