Having a browse about NeoGAF, as I am wont to do, I came across the internet radio show of The Cruncheons, some very fine gentlemen whose taste in strategy games appears to be impeccable. In the course of their show, they gave what for to E3, made a very well-informed comparison between the 3rd-gen iPad and the latest generation of Android tablets – and then confessed their undying affection for Pocket Tactics. I blushed. Still a bit pinkish.

If you need a semi-regular gaming podcast (they seem to update twice a month or so), give The Cruncheons a shot. They’re smart gents, and the production values of the show are good – bumper music and everything. They do curse quite a lot though. Can’t imagine they link their mothers to new episodes.

Thanks for reading, Cruncheons!

Oh snap!  I will say the intelligence level of the cast tends to get squared on the Robert episodes.  Nice to get a mention from a cool site.

Cool! It's a really good site.

Mom taught me all the curse words I know :(

But yeah, I do need to work on that, I am the guiltiest of us when it comes to using dirty swear words.  Funny, I hardly ever used to swear during the early days of the old Borecast.  Maybe I'm getting stupid. er.

I'm not using a macro, on solo runs I have a bunch of magic find gear and I open the item screen and pop it on as the butcher is about to die to my hydra.  It's incredibly hard to do, but I've gotten it down with shitty act I mobs and the Butcher.  The warden is actually tougher to do it with because of all those murderous fiends that spawn with him, one will run up and murderize you as soon as you start putting your shitty mf gear on.

I would have had to notice it to mention it... honestly, like I say multiple times in the cast I honestly kind of don't pay attention to/care about what's going on in console land right now.  For me, Nintendo is there to be laughed at, I don't give a shit about handhelds (other than strategy/card/board gaming on iOS) and I'll wake up and start paying attention to MS & Sony when they announce actual hardware that I won't buy at launch.  I sometimes worry that this makes me a less valuable/informed member of the crew, but at the same time I'm all old and set in my ways.  I still get enjoyment out of the hobby, just on my own terms.

Was old man playing Diablo during the recording? There was a lot of mouse clicking going on.

I was listening pretty loudly with my Senheisers on in a noisy server room and noticed it. Those are nice headphones.

i'm kinda trying to cut back on any female-related slurs until libertarian hypocritical shitbags quit ruining it for everyone, so i've temporarily stricken "cunt" from my curse lexicon. besides, i got kinda busted by a lesbian friend when i screamed "you dull aboriginal cunt" at a dude who cut me off in traffic. she was all "man, i know you have a crazy cuss vocabulary, but WOW DUDE, that was a bit beyond the pale" (the target was a white male, but, well, y'know)
