The disapproval gap is twice as big now as it was during June 2010 and August 2012. It was down to -8 last October before shooting up to -19 a month later. There's seemingly no connection to the actual policy or even the news cycle. (Polling got BETTER during the botched rollout, then got worse after it stabilized!)

Obamacare will probably be a 50-50 type debate by October, barring some unforseen issue. I think the more important thing is the continued realization that no, Obamacare isn't going to destroy healthcare as we know it, kill old people, endanger the disabled, etc. There will be a sizable level of pushback for years, largely from conservatives, but as more regular people begin to not care about the law, it'll become less of a major issue.

A great example is that recent Gallup poll that shows about 56% of republicans believe Obamacare is going to harm them, which is down from like 90% just a few months ago.

Surprised this is new to you. The Saez stuff on income inequality has been all over liberal blogs for the last few years. His research is probably behind 90+% of the charts/infographics/factoids people post about the super-rich on social media.

Bookmarked those slides. Not surprising, given the previous income inequality research, but still very interesting. Besides the results themselves, the process they went through. We're rather spoiled by the BLS keeping track of things in close to real time, and putting together a historical time series like this takes a lot of work.

The BLM agents didn't go to his house. They were rounding up his cattle that were grazing on public land. He and several hundred armed militia members confronted them near where the cows were being corralled [again, on public land]. The cows were released because getting into a huge shootout wouldn't have benefited anybody in that situation.

It should be pretty clear what he's doing here, or what he was told to do. Harry Reid got in some trouble a few years ago for saying Obama didn't use a "Negro dialect" and didn't receive much of any pushback from the media or democrats. The GOP has decided attacking Reid is an allegedly good way to build base momentum. The inevitable denouncements that occur now will spur Bundy, Fox, and republicans to point out no such outrage occurred on the left when Reid used the same word.

Nevermind that Bundy went overboard into blatant racial rhetoric; the problem isn't saying "Negro" it's what comes afterwards. If we had a decent media it would be very easy to step over this trap and simply ask Bundey supporters if they believe blacks are better off now than they were as slaves. Yes or no question.

I guarantee you Fox, right wing media, and certain GAF posters will bring up Reid today.
