thought Paul did okay, Fiorina and Huckabee present their insane visions for the future with enough conviction that you can almost look past the blather they're pushing. Carson needs to lay off the Ambien. Kasich was just kind of there, but at least he didn't embarrass himself. Cruz seems incapable of not appearing insincere. Rubio still seems to me like a top tier contender even if he sure as shit ain't polling like one.

Trump, I dunno how to analyze that guy. But if everyone in the debate is deferring to him, and occasionally awkwardly high fiving him then I suppose he's still the man.

I forgot who said it last night but Bush was giving Gore vibes in terms of a couple long "wonky" answers. Specifically on Planned Parenthood where he bypassed the red meat GOPers wanted and instead delved into how to go around Title IX without getting in trouble. No wonder the base is tuning him out.

But jeez is CNN trash or what? Too bad Gingrich wasn't debating because you know he would have taken the easy applause route of bashing CNN's attempt to create "sparks" and drama between candidates. Literally every question was framed as:

Governor X, Senator Y recently criticized your Z policy, claiming it was [insert minor to medium complaint]. Tell Senator Y why he's wrong.

How is that a debate, especially when you know no one is going to outright attack a fellow non-Trump candidate?

Honestly Trump seemed like he was running not for presidency of the US but presidency of a grade school class. "I'll get along with everyone great, we'll have a lot of good stuff and I'll actually learn about what we're talking about later! All recess no homework!"

Also Fiorina's stance on what we need for war is the same mindset I got into playing CIV V with. More tanks, nukes and planes. We're going to bring you peace one bullet at a time.

I have this image in my mind where there's a possibility a Bush/Rubio setup could win... The party could drum up some Hispanic support (instead of being utterly toxic towards Hispanics), they'd have Florida on lock, they'd get the bitter angry white male vote, along with all the perks of being establishment candidates

I'm just hoping the average voter gives less a shit about Hillary's email server and more of a shit about dubya's legacy than I give them credit for. And that the 'angry white male' voter decides to simply not turn up once their hero Trump sputters out instead of jumping ship to Jeb.

I think Rubio is out because of his voting record. Eventually, one of the candidates will squeeze their balls and dare to challenge Trump on his knowledge/ability to do anything presidential ("what's your plan going go to be biatch"). I'm guessing right now his appeal to Republican voters is that he'll have apparently conservative views and then get his aides/cabinet to tell him what to actually do but when people realize the man who is in charge is totally lost in the woods, they might think twice. Unless they want a second Dubya.

In which case I'm glad he wasn't really elected, he was just reelected.
