Once robots can replicate the fine motor skills involved in manufacturing, won't the factories just move to whatever country is the shortest distance between the raw resources and consumers? Effectively, there's no money being kept in the country by making it yourself but putting up barriers to trade now can really kick you in the ass in 10 (or 30?) years.

On a lighter note, the presumptive Republican nominee for Representative in MN-2 has said some bonkers shit about slavery.

In fact, if you really want to be quite frank about it, how does somebody else owning a slave affect me? It doesn’t. If I don’t think it is right, I won’t own one, and people always say ‘well if you don’t want to marry somebody of the same sex, you don’t have to, but why tell somebody else they can’t.  Uh, you know if you don’t want to own a slave, don’t. But don’t tell other people they can’t.

Let's put aside that he seems to think slavery was ended by a Supreme Court ruling and that the 13th Amendment doesn't exist.  Who wants to point out the hole in this logic?
