A pro wrassler being allowed to speak freely actually led to a good promo. Who would have thunk it? It's like Vince forgot about how The Rock and Stone Cold started out.

That might be it, though- I didn't see it, but read that Bryan went onto Talking Smack last night and basically said something along the lines of "Yeah, I left because I was legit upset. Miz was right- I could go wrestle for an Indy group but I have a family to worry about. Anyway, I respect him for this and love the fire between him and Ziggler, so they're booked for a match at the PPV."

...And this was after Miz played the chicken-shit heel and ran away from Ziggler.

So it's basically all back to normal.

I like what they're doing with Heath Slater right now though. I'm sure it won't last, but it's a fun angle. I watched most of SD last night but stopped before the main event. Ambrose vs. Baron Corbin?

According to a report by James McKeena, Orton has been dealing with an undisclosed injury that will prevent him from working tonight's match with Wyatt.

"The Viper" just recently returned from a lengthy hiatus taken while he underwent surgery and spent several months undergoing rehab before having his first PPV match back with WWE at last month's SummerSlam show.

As of this article, WWE is still advertising the Orton-Wyatt match for tonight's PPV.

Note that Kane replaced Orton at the house show last night, with no reasons given. Uh-oh.

I didn't pay attention to most of this PPV. Just watched the Women's match and kind of tuned out after that, playing games. I see that AJ Styles just won the belt after what looked like a shitty match with Dean.

Watching Backlash with the girlfriend was fun because we don't watch Smackdown, and only I watch the recaps on their website. So seeing her try to make sense of the current storylines month to month is very entertaining.

Clash Of Champions wasn't bad -mostly felt like Sunday Night RAW- but I tuned out by the main event. This is just too much, though- we had a PPV two weeks ago, then this one, and the next one is in two weeks again. It's overkill.

The Miz has slowly become a genuinely great on-screen character over the last near-decade. He's always had presence but lately you can see a confidence that wasn't there before.

He's absolutely killing it in this feud with Ziggler. And he's making the IC title actually seem important.

On the one hand, as a subscriber I'd love access to the TNA library, but as a fan of wrestling I kind of hate the idea of Vince extending his grasp even further. TNA is really rough but they seem to give people a lot more room to breathe. Like, can you imagine Matt Hardy being allowed to execute the Broken gimmick the way he has in the WWE? That shit would have been DOA.

Vince isn't gonna buy out the contracts of any of the talent but I would actually be down to see some of those guys in WWE. EC3 as heel champ on Smackdown would be amazing. At least having the tape library on the Network would be awesome, and will lead to nice video packages for folks like TJ Perkins, Styles, and Samoa Joe (as well as like half the NXT roster now).

Of course there's still a chance that Billy Corgan buys TNA from under Vince, right?

IIRC the first suspension was for some prescription that wasn't cleared with the WWE doctors. Maybe it's that again...or maybe she's doing this on purpose in an attempt to get fired? Unlike Del Rio, her contract is through 2019.

Big Hogan chant continues until a security guard comes over and is like “Man that’s funny as hell, but they told me to make you sit down.”
