Well, because she freely talked about Sullivan hitting her, and all the details of the murder were given in explicit detail, but she didn't want to go into the detail of this one particular incident that she didn't know was an accident or not other than her hurt her. Which to me sounds like a sex thing gone too far and her not wanting his other kids to know he was rapist or something on top of a murderer.

Yeah when you put it like that it makes sense
