Official Capybara thread of Capybaras capabary'ing

This is the capybara, the world's largest rodent.

They're indigenous to South America and can grow to be up to almost 4 1/2 feet long and up to 150 lbs.

Sup.

I am going to own one of these motherfuckers.  Maybe five.

Oh, you know.  Just chilling with my bros.

Apparently they also are fully functional monkey transports.  How can you possibly go wrong.

I'm really interested in knowing if these things are legitimately good pets however I have never put any real effort in finding out.

1. They make good pets (though they're not always legal to keep). Despite their heft – capybara grow to be about 4-ft. long and weigh upwards of 100 lbs. – these rodents are friendly and respond well to human contact.

The most famous domesticated capybara might be Caplin ROUS (or Rodent of an Unusual Size), who lived with his owners in Texas until his death earlier this year. He was housebroken and had his own pool, which leads us to our next point.

Do capybaras make good pets?
Answer:
Certainly not. This animal is the largest rodent on Earth, and not only consumes massive amounts of vegetation, but defecates frequently. Just cleaning up after this animal and feeding it would take a full-time job. Also, capybaras are social animals and would require a wide open space to live in. In the wild, capybara herds live on the African savanna. Also, the stink something wretched.
