The Battle Royale modes/ mods in H1Z1 and ARMA were designed by Brendan Greene, too. Daybreak has no reason to complain, they didn't hire Greene and let some shoddy Korean MMO developer grab him. Bluehole's B-team Ginno was free after their Diablo/ themepark MMO hybrid Devilian bombed, so they made PUBG under Greene.

What impresses me the most about the whole thing is that pretty much nobody realizes PUBG is a Korean made game. I'd argue the character designs give it away to a degree but that's pretty much it.

only because of anime fans. look at any persona fan talking about persona, it's 90% my waifu this, your waifu that and literally nothing about gameplay. this is extremely evident in the love of persona 4 (particularly the VITA version P4G which added more animu and loli crap)

I was actually fine with Persona until 4 happened and the anime got turned up to 11 and then a bunch of people flocked to it (and then Atlus started to pander to them and release 55 spinoffs)
