I also thought it was kind of weird that he’s a king in Africa, and they’re the most technologically advanced nation in the world, and they are still throwing Spears, riding rhinos, making masks out of chrocodile teeth, practicing ritualistic body modification, and worshipping primitive animal gods... and every body still sees it as empowering.
Oh and it’s implied that the only reason that they are technologically advanced at all was basically because of a meteor containing alien alloys. I never saw that message as all that empowering. Like if you made a movie about futuristic white people, but they all still shit in chamber pots and threw it in the street.
