optimus. i think it's more of an issue with people today, social media, and the entitlement they think they have. then we see the symptoms of this issue expressed differently based on people's shitty values. with what we're seeing of some people on the left, it's cheering a death of some guy because at one point he hopped on the "ethics" narrative of the gamergate event before eventually condemning the movement.

with bain, it was sending large droves of people to harass and ostracize people he thought deserved it. even months before his death he did it to some guy for making a transphobic joke at some convention he was holding.

it's still really sad that he died so young, robbed of a chance to grow old and mature as a person, to look at his failings and wrongdoings and change, to watch his children grow and gain more empathy. and it hurts to think about how all his fans, people who respected and admired him, who felt like they were connected to him, had to watch him slowly die from cancer.

TB wasn't sending anyone, he was just replying to assholes on social media being assholes to him. He had every right to have his own opinion and respond to people attacking him.

And while you have a point about social media I don't think that's the main culprit, it's identity politics. Identity politics and the people who obsess over them from either side always throughout history created little cults of obsessive hypocrites with no self-awareness. Identity politics is a toxic subject that should be handled with extreme care and maturity because it's very easy to create these cults that vilify their opponents and eventually become what they hate. Look at South Africa for the best example of this.

And while it would be easy for me to say just treat everyone the same and don't give a flying fuck what they are, which is what I do,  I do recognize that at some point certain injustices based on genetic traits should be discussed maturely... and this is where social media come in. Social media have connected humanity and therefore the moron majority and these imbeciles not only aren't discussing this type of politics maturely, OF COURSE, but they decided to focus on them with the help of corporate media and the gender studies lunatics. Which is why at this point I'm sick and tired of anyone discussing that shit since I can't expect decent discussion on a subject that has already become pure poison.
