I hope it‘s better than last season which was easily the worst GoT season.

I also think Daenerys is by far the worst character so maybe my disdain for the previous season stems from the fact that GoT has become this Danerys power fantasy.

Rooting for the Night King at this point.

cool, the guy who did battle of the bastards, hardhorne and the winds of winter (the goat episode) is doing battle of winterfeld. reading how it'll be the largest battle ever conceived on film has me a bit worried though. yes, the scale for helm's deep was impressive but its direction was somewhat shite

my only theory is that the golden company is going to land at winterfell rather than kings landing, presumably during the battle. it just makes more sense strategically

I think the Others lay waste to Winterfell and the survivors have to head south as the entire North turns into dark, frozen Zombieland. The final battle takes place on the Trident like Dany's dream indicated way back in ASOS. Some stupid bullshit happens with one of the hated villains (Cersei, Euron, etc) retain power during the aftermath, or at the very least are left alone to rule over their broken realm as the survivors rebuild.

Prediction:

The Night King sits down with Jon and Bran. Explains (via Bran who can read his mind, cause he can't speak) that all he really wants is baby Sam back, as he was stolen from him.
Everyone laughs the whole misunderstanding off and parties. The NK catches a glimpse of Cersei and finds he real hawt.

The NK goes back north with baby Sam, and Cersei, who finally feels some warmth within her, as she gets the NK's D.

Sam is executed by Jon for causing all this mess.
His final words are "I just wanted a GF and a son". Jon responds "you should have grown a pair and dated some girls, dickhead" before swinging Heartsbane to take his head.

I have this feeling that Cersei is more the villain than the Night King will be. She has her own zombie servant already.
