I do like that every is taking Tencent Tim at his word though. Didn't he say they wouldn't poach kickstarted games after Phoenix Point and then immediately poach Shenmue 3 and Mechwarrior?
Waiting for the "UwU I tried" statement

I think at least some of the animosity is from Blizzard refusing to take a harsher stance against outright hatespeech on their platforms compared to the treatment this Hearthstone player got.

Though, they aren't considering the nature of his statement, if some Overwatch champ was being interviewed after OWL and said "I hate n-words" he'd be unpersoned so much more thoroughly than this guy.

Also, most of Blizzard's terrible writing is based at least in part around the struggle of small groups of freedom fighters against overwhelming totalitarian odds.

The Omnic Wars might as well be a ham-fisted allegory for HKs struggle for independence

blitzchung already got unpersoned pretty well. they yanked his winnings, booted him from the pro scene, and had his account permabanned.

lol what? Overwatch (along with like Rainbow Six Siege and Warframe) is like top 3 games I think of when it comes worst abuses of game licensing, where they'll outright steal from you due to stuff like "toxic emoting", saying the name of a in-game special ability in Spanish (espejo negro), or saying the name of an certain in-game item in combination with an in-game class (nezha siphon trap).

Honest question;  every time someone says something about Sweeeney it's always in rhetorical question form.. "Didn't he do this?"  And then I ask for a link and never get any lol

I unironically hope Twitch and Amazon come under intense scrutiny even that would be distinguished mentally-challenged scapegoating.  I'm just concerned about the size and scope of Amazon and hope for negative things happen to them.

That sounds a lot like RE logic.
Also, don’t kid yourself, is going to end in blaming games and more censorship before touching their practices.

More censorship? Where do you think censorship comes from? The US government? It comes from places like China, and pressure from gamejournos/ResetEra who are dedicated to creating a public PR problem for any company that crosses them. Pearl clutching on CNN does nothing.

Which is why I said some Overwatch Pro expressing his hate of black people on an official OWL stream would be nuked from orbit.

The impression of players can be that misogynistic/bigoted speech is more allowed because of anecdotal encounters with the occasional racist who called them a porch-monkey cause they were playing Lucio, but the policy is quite clear even if enforcement is difficult.

This might shock you but it was determined to be against the 1st amendment for the US government to censor video games because they're considered a form of speech.

looks like it was Steve Allison head of EGS, not Tim, saying they wouldn't do it again (spoilers, they did)

Tim said that when they do it again (lol), Epic will cover the refund costs

Tim would censor the player, but then let them keep their price pool to try to smooth things over, cause he's such a nice guy.

You said that Amazon coming under scrutiny would result in game censorship, presumably because boomer news TV would talk about it.

The only real thing all of these shooter distinguished mentally-challenged fellows have in common seems to be craving public attention, to give their empty, shitty lives some meaning; so maybe they should ban Social Media.

What Blizzard has done is nothing different than what you and ResetEra regularly advocate for, deplatforming. Frankly this was a mild deplatforming at that, he wasn't even officially fired from a permanent position or committed suicide. He's actually being applauded, this HK advocate got off easy compared to others in this industry and to call this censorship while other instances of deplatforming not-censorship a utter hypocrisy.

Diablo 3 is a better game than Diablo 2

it launched with a real money auction house and game design completely wrapped around that

you had to grind for weeks for one half decent item because if they dropped more often than that nobody would pay for them

to this day it's always online even in single player, except on console

regardless of which game is better eventually only one of them will still be playable on PC
